Amazing Wildlife

Check this video about a park in the UK called Marwell Wildlife. Then, click HERE on the image  to download the worksheet.

It's your turn now!! Find a classmate to work with, then think of a natural park or reserve in your area. You are going to give a short oral presentation about it. In your presentation with the Power Point you should include the following:

- the name of the park
- where it is
- what the natural environment is like and what wildlife you can find there
-what benefits it brings.

BEST OF LUCK!!!

After the Christmas Break

Fortunately, or to some unfortunately,  the winter break is over. From now on until Easter we'll have to readjust to the school routine again. Perhaps some inspiring quotes might help us to survive this short period.
Enjoy yourselves reading them ;)

Now, why don't you browse the net and find some "boosting" quotes, videos, film scenes, comic strips to start the new school term? Once you find them, wrIte a post and publish it on your blog. It would be even better if you explain why you have chosen them.

And this is my favourite video because it shows amazing things people can do as well as incredible scenes. It's simple and gets to the point. The message is crystal clear: if you believe in yourself, you can do it!!!

A New Year’s Resolution is a promise to yourself to improve your life in some way. You can improve your life by starting something new, by trying harder at something, by cutting down on something, or even quitting something. OR we can just keep doing what we are doing now.

Check Adrian Mole's New Year's resolutions:

BILL MACK- CHRISTMAS IS ALL AROUND (Love Actually)

This is the first scene of the film Love Actually ( 2003). Watch the video and correct the sentences:

I feel it in my head, I feel it in my head
I feel it in my shoes
Gold is all around us and so the feeling....
(- I'm sorry you did it again Jim!
-It's just I know the new version so badly, you see
- Well, they all do, that's why we're doing a new version.
-Right, good, let's go.)
I feel it in my head, I feel it in my head
I feel it in my shoes
Gold is all around us ...
(- Oh ............................. Start now)
I feel it in my head, I feel it in my head
I feel it in my shoes
Gold is all around us and so the feeling goes
It's spoken in the rain
It's nowhere I go
So if you really like Easter
Come on and let it show
(-This is great, isn't it?
- Yeap, solid great silver my son)

DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS? FEED THE WORLD (Band Aid 1984)

BAND AID  was the name of the group that recorded the original song "Do they know it's Christmas?". Bob Geldof and Midget Ure wrote the song that was recorded by a group of the 40 best-known pop stars of the time. The song was performed at the Live Aid Concert held at the Wembley Stadium on 25th November 1984. The reason for the concert was to raise money for the victims of the famine in Ethiopia. The concert lasted 16 hours and raised over 100 million pounds.

Attacks in Paris

This cartoon is by Chapatte from NZZ am Sonntag, Zurich. It shows the Eifel Tower, Paris most important symbol, being destroyed with a bomb explosion. Today the world is in commotion after the terrorists attacks in Paris as you probably have seen on the television or in the news.

Read and listen to the news report on this tragic event below.

Across Central Paris, at least 120 people died in gun and bomb attacks. The attacks started at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night.
People heard explosions at a stadium in the north of the city. An hour later, shootings at a bar and a restaurant happened around 5 miles from the stadium. Fourteen people died in those two incidents.
The deadliest attack took place at a concert hall around 11 p.m. A concert was taking place when four gunmen entered the hall and started shooting into the crowd. More than 80 people died.
These are the deadliest attacks in Europe since the 2004 Madrid bombing.

Difficult words: incident (a situation when something very good or very bad happens), crowd (a lot of people).

If you feel self-confident enough, try watching the complete piece of news.

Now, browse the Internet for some news and  write a post with a short summary in 80 words. Include at least 4 news words with the Catalan translation and a link to a dictionary. Add the source and a photo too.
To illustrate your summary create a word cloud or Wordle. Use significant words from the summary in your Wordle. To create it click here and follow the instructions. You can also use ImageChef.
